For God is working in you, giving you the desire
and the power to do what pleases him.
“Mom, the house is clean. Why don’t you take a bath and relax?” My daughters, Kathy Ann (12), and Marcy (10), stood in the doorway the day before my 30th birthday. Their concern put me on edge. The girls did not typically care if I smelled good for the evening.
The phone rang. Before I answered, I heard them giggle. Something weird is happening here.
Fifteen minutes later, before I showered, our daughters ushered my sweaty body into the living room.
“Happy Birthday!” Forty women yelled surprise. That night I received 30 pair of panties and money for seat covers.
Later the girls showed me their quaint hand-made invitations. Admittance, one pair of underwear. None of us knew I would need the undies for the lean years when their father decided to go back to school.
They didn’t know, but God did.
Spiritual Principle: Daughters are aware of our unspoken needs and are capable of more than we can fathom.
